Merry Christmas from Florida

As I sit for my morning coffee, reading a few articles from the blogging world, I stare out at sunshine, palm trees, and the irony of my Chicago Sears Tower coffee mug that is my drinking cup of choice while I enjoy the soft breeze and company of “La Familia” in Miami, Florida.  It’s that time of year where Christmas is upon us and family is right by your side.

Every time I come and visit I get a little glimpse into our future plans.  As part of our plan we will be paying off our FL rental property in late 2016 and over the next year, we will take the necessary steps to put ourselves in a position to work remotely in the sunshine state.  We have thought and considered other possibilities, but we think this should be option #1, keep the same employer and work remotely/find permanent office close to home.

Since coming down to Florida I have eaten breakfast outside every morning, played beach volleyball at the park almost every day, and visited the art district of Wynwood(this is where the breweries are:) Now I know I’m on vacation but it feels nice to sit outside at 8 am and have the option to play volleyball in December in the sand.  The breweries that is a different story in Chicago, they win on that one, but I will say these 3 breweries were within a block of each other and that you cannot find in the Chi.

Florida is a little glimpse into the future.  La Familia has friends and family stop over to talk, drink coffee, and share nacatamales.  I know Mrs. Even Steven wants to be here and talk with here mother in person every day, watch her brothers graduate college and yell at them for getting a C, and wear shorts without sleeves rather than sweaters and winter coats.  I get it, I’m not exactly opposed to nice weather in the winter time.

As I think about wrapping up 2015, my mind glances into the future.  Talks about children names and future residences has my mind glancing ahead, but for today, I am happy to enjoy my Florida, until another time I wish you a Merry Christmas from Florida!

  • Enjoy your vacation, sounds like a blast. I’ll be visiting family and friends, but no where warm. Well El Nino has been hanging around NYC so it’s been in the 60’s, so I guess it’s better than nothing! Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all, it was really difficult to jump on the computer during the holiday vacation, instead I was outside enjoying the weather playing volleyball at the park and swimming in the ocean:)

  • Even though it is in the 40s in Wisconsin this week, it still doesn’t beat Florida weather! Enjoy the vacation! No better motivation than freedom to do what you want each morning in excellent weather. Merry Christmas!

  • Dude, I am here freezing my ass off in Colorado and you torment me with this? I’m shivering while you stumble though your Wynwood district wearing shorts and drinking beer. I’m so mad right now, I can hardly contain myself.

But wait, it doesn’t stop there. You mention this “nacatamale” thingy which I had never heard of, but looks friggin’ deiicious. I hate you.

Right after I hit the submit button, I’m jumping in my Element and driving to Chicago. When I get there, I’m going to Costco where I will purchase a 24 pack of Kirkland ass-wipes. After that, I’m driving to your place where I will adorn your building with Costco’s finest. Merry TPmas!

    Just kidding! Maybe.

This is true, I was walking through Wynwood looking for my next brewery, how did you know! Side note be careful how far you walk to find your next brewery, less smiles from a few people. Nacatamale apparently it’s the breakfast, lunch, and dinner of champions in Nicaragua, can’t argue with the family on that one.

I’m back and I did not see and Kirkland wipes on my building, I’m glad you decided against driving to Chicago, sounds like you made the right decision.

      • Nope, TPmas didn’t happen. I figured that as long as I’m nice to you, perhaps you’ll hook me up with a Nacatamale someday.

So, I take back all of those mean things that I said in the previous comment as well as all of those times I’ve called you ‘Stevie.’ You are a beautiful person and your presence makes the world a better place.

What do I do with all of this TP now???
