Why my Father is Amazing

Everyone out there has a father, they might have been involved in every day of their lives or they have not seen him since the day they were born.  Either way father’s out there have a large influence on our lives and mine is no different.

I love my Dad.  He is a hard worker, great person to talk to, tells great stories, enjoys life, and love’s his wife and children.  When I speak about my father I always mention he has done so many things with his life.  Here are just a few: Mayor, Head of Water Department, Detective/Police Officer, Owner/Operator Truck Driver, and Owned his own Pizza place and Bar.  There is certainly an even longer list and that has had a huge impact on how I have grown up and chose my career and place of work.

My Dad played catch with me, gave me advice, and told me when I was right and punished me when I did wrong.  He has been there for when I made mistakes and congratulated me when I made him proud.  I have learned many things from my father and I am the person today because of him.

Because my father had multiple jobs throughout my life, I feel we were never in the best possible financial decision.  It’s probably the reason I have been with the same company since I graduated college.  It is also probably the reason I have such a desire for financial independence.  My Dad is not sitting on a beach somewhere sipping margaritas and playing golf, he is working hard making up for past mistakes and financial choices.  He has his imperfections and that’s what makes him my Dad.

My Father is amazing because he has enjoyed life, lived and worked all over the world, loves his family, and has been a critical part of my life from the day I was born until this very day.  That’s why my Dad is amazing.

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s out there who have made such an impact in our lives.  Thank you.

What makes your Dad amazing?

  • Great share! Wow he really did a lot of things over his life. Mayor and police officer – very impressive! Most important is that he valued his family over things.

Thanks Deb, I couldn’t agree more he has done a lot of great things over his life.

  • Wow, nice message for your father Even Steven, obviously has had a major impact on your life, and always fantastic to see such nice words shared openly. I don’t see much of my dad these days, but he was terrible with finances, which has inspired me to work hard for financial independence. You always learn something from your parents, whether by following their behaviours or learning from their mistakes.

Thanks for stopping by Grinder! Like I have said throughout, we learn from our Father’s in good and bad examples.

  • Great tribute to your dad. He’s done a ton!

My dad taught me that there was value in being the hard working guy. Maybe you’re not the smartest person alive, but by working hard and learning quickly, you can get a ton done.
